L’Arche Clinton currently has four homes where we provide around the clock caring assistance for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Our staff of top-notch direct support professionals (who we refer to as Assistants) share daily life experiences with our community members with I/DD (the Core Members of our community). Our Assistants support for our Core Members is guided by a person-centered plan crafted to meet each Core Member’s individual choices and needs. Our Assistants are trained to administer medication and recognize potential medical concerns, and to help with social needs, transportation, personal cares, money management, and anything else our core members may need assistance with.
Most importantly, at L’Arche we cultivate belonging through meaningful relationships. When a person feels a sense of belonging among friends, it gives them the freedom to be their true self among people they love, who take a real stake in their lives and well-being.
